A blank column almost never means "no such cars" — it means this source does not split them out, and those vehicles are counted inside another column. Check the caveats for where they land.

Caveats

The source reports combustion as one aggregate figure, so the ICE column is what it publishes — there is no petrol/diesel split and those columns stay empty.
CPCA's combustion bucket (常规燃油) includes full hybrids, so China has no HEV column at all. A like-for-like BEV-share comparison with a country that splits HEV out is fine, but an ICE-share comparison is not: China's ICE includes hybrids that other countries report separately.
The retail BEV/PHEV/EREV split comes from OCR of a slide; a wholesale-proportional proxy fills in if OCR fails.
From 2025-01 the PHEV column excludes EREV (EREV has its own column).
Source values are in 万辆 (10,000s); the CSV stores absolute units.
