New registrations of cars and light commercials for Brazil, from ANFAVEA.
Brazil's figures come from ANFAVEA, the national manufacturers' association, which compiles them from the Renavam / Senatran registration records. Since ANFAVEA's September 2026 site relaunch our fetcher queries its interactive «Central de Dados» (registrations by fuel, Total Leves = Automóveis + Comerciais Leves, monthly); until then it parsed the yearly Excel workbook (sheet «III. Emplacamento Combustível»), which covered the same scope.
The Central de Dados also reports a small pure-ethanol (Etanol) category that the old workbook did not; it is stored in OTHERS (combustion side). Rows fetched before September 2026 carry OTHERS = 0.
Brazil is the one country where FLEXFUEL is its own column and the largest one: most Brazilian cars run on any petrol/ethanol blend. It counts as combustion in the three-curve view, not as an alternative fuel.
